Wade family donates to PWC

On Friday, January 21, Louise, Jack and Melody Wade (standing at the far left in the photo above) presented Pointe West Club (PWC) with a check for $200.00 toward the purchase of a video camera.

The funds represent a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Louise Wade’s book, “Melody’s Gifts,” which was published in 2010. The book is a detailed account of the struggles and triumphs the Wade family has experienced in raising a daughter with intellectual disabilities. Melody, who is now 48, regularly attends PWC and, according to her father, Jack, “absolutely loves it there.”

The Wades have done several presentations throughout the region since the book was published. Proceeds have also allowed them to donate rhythm instruments to Craig Springs Church Camp. Jack and Louise – who have battled their own health issues over the years – also make a regular trip from their home in Dublin to PWC to lead members and staff in singing/instrument playing.

We greatly appreciate the Wades’ continued support of PWC and individuals with intellectual disabilities!
